Tioga Contest Picks and Standings

The Computers vs Human Handicappers contest at Tioga Downs is underway with front runners mel and Chatsworth battling for the lead and closers Bobby-Z and Ray's Robot motoring in the rear. The side-contest in this Forum is showing some nice positive ROI's in both the Win and Exacta columns with tone3, Mirror Image, and tamaharbor fast out of the gate.


This thread will be used just for the contestants picks, the standings, a rules summary and any comments relating to either contest.

Rules Review

The Tioga web site will be showing the "Robots vs Humans" picks and standings. For that contest the players... Mel, Bobby Z, Rays Robot and TrackMasters Chatsworth are required to make Win, Place and Show picks in all races. The final ROI% on the contestant's Win choice will be used to determine the contest winner. The ROI% on Exacta plays Pic1 on top of Pic2,Pic3 will be shown for information only as will The Morning Line's picks and standing. The Morning Line is not eligible in the contest. Late scratches are counted as a 'no-play' not as 'played and refunded'. Prizes, sponsors, and other contest information can be found at HANA's Press release/Blog and at Tioga's web site.


As for the side-contest for Pace Advantage members...

To attract as many players as possible it was decided not to require picks in every race but to go with a minumum number of plays for the season, 400 Win picks and/or 800 Exacta plays (a/b or a/bc) There will be 2 prizes, best Win ROI% gets choice of C-Note or the books (see Forum thread "Pen or Micro Chip" for complete list), Best Exacta ROI% gets the other. The standings of the 4 contestants in the Robot vs Humans challenge (and ML) will be posted here at Pace Advantage for comparison but are not eligible for any side-contest prizes. They are at a disadvantage anyway since they must play every race. Late scratches will be scored as a 'no-play' not as 'played and refunded' as mentioned before. There is still time for any new players who would like to enter as long as they can get in 400 Win plays and/or 800 Exactas before the end of the season. (Approx 630 total races, 57 race dates)

Please use this thread for entering picks, showing the race number and separating the win-place-show numbers with a dash "-". Also include the date if the picks are not for the date of posting. examples
