Houston grand jury declines to charge man who shot and killed robber inside taqueria

A grand jury in Texas has decided not to charge a man who shot and killed a robber inside a Houston taqueria last year.

I thought for sure they would indict. He kept shooting well after the guy was down.

He finished him off with a headshot too

Two years ago I would have bet the house on indictment. Harris County is houston mostly. Jmo the recent violence in the nation as a whole has changed the minds of people of all colors, etc. People are tired of seeing criminals get off free over and over.

With Dallas mayor switching to the republican party, now this No Bill, it's refreshing. People have had enough of crime and lawlessness

While this is a good sign, it will take a lot more than this. I read that the robber had already committed a prior robbery where he killed someone. If that is true why was he even out of prison? I'm pretty sure Texas has a felony murder law (where if you kill someone during the commission of a felony it is murder one).

Harris county releases them on bonds so low anybody can bail out.

If he was convicted of murder, then he should have been in prison for a long time. This is different than people being arrested and charged with a crime where they get low bail. I agree that is a big problem, but different than what I described.
