NTRA and promotion
A recent quote from Alex Waltrip:
"On April 27 during another panel talk, Waldrop said the NTRA has been busy tackling issues such as integrity and equine safety, and when those matters are satisfactorily addressed, the organization intends to spend more time marketing and promoting racing, which was its mission when it was formed in the late 1990s."
The head organization, cannot do integrity, safety, AND do a little marketing and promotion at the same time?
The NTRA website no longer links to a Player Panel, and listings under "new fNS" IS only about betting.
IMHO racing powers have on their minds financially only purses, current horseplayer betting, and other forms of betting.
Bigshots at the same meeting said without slots, to paraphrase. the foundations holding up racing will begin to collapse (like Bloodhorse and TBred Times), but the walls seperating racing from the general public will continue to get more inpenetrable. ("integrity and equine safety, and when those matters are satisfactorily addressed").
What do you think? Who should really take the lead in marketing and promoting racing the the GP?
