Turfway "new surface"

New Tapeta surface at Turfway tonight where they began their holiday meet.
Mostly big fields also. Negatives are "No grandstand" (torn down). No fans allowed also. There is a new simulcast facility in nearby Newport KY. though.

The new surface has an odd color that is maybe enhanced by the lights. Does the announcer call the races remotely from live video since there is no grandstand ? Speaking of the announcer I truly miss Mike Battaglia calling those races. “ and those two are tooooogetherrrr”. Bring Mike back !

First time I've ever seen the words "I truly miss Mike Battaglia" in that particular order. Didn't know it was possible.

Seriously, didn't like him much in the olden days but that was back in the age of Trevor, Cassidy, and several other really good ones.

The bar is lower now.

At the end of the day, it is a very tough job that would be way beyond my potential skill set.
