Wasn't me either, but I do occasionally play pick 1's there.

As far as live visits, I think I have been to PM 4-5 times. They actually have one of the nicer motel 6's right next to the property.

Good to know...I am thinking of a jaunt down there Jan 2/3, if I can swing the time off work....I've driven past on I-5, but have never stopped in.... may get to double digits in my tracks visited soon!

How is this for a list....

Hastings, Sandown Park (defunct / Vancouver Island), Longacres (defunct), Desert Park (trying to hold on to a race date in 2017), Sunflower Downs (defunct), Kin Park (defunct), Fraser Downs (harness), and Northlands (harness at the time)

I seem to have a knack for shutting places down

One of my biggest regrets was not going to Sandown Park on Vancouver Island when they were still running.

I remember one beautiful summer day I was at home and I thought, I should really head to the island and watch the racing today... Then I thought about the hassle/expense of the ferry and figured, ah, there's always next year.

May try to head over there on Sunday for that - if the roads get better. We had about 2 inches of snow today in the Portland area, and it's total chaos out there right now. I-5 is locked up tighter than Dick Tracy's hatband.

You missed out on a great experience. The racing was at a whole different level from the racing at Hastings...a LOT more casual. All the jockeys stayed at the Best Western Hotel in Sidney; we'd go over there after the racing and keep track of which ones were imbibing a bit too much...theory was that the ones getting loaded weren't concerned about the chances of their mounts next day...worked, too!

Back in the 90's, Sandown was the only option (other than heading down to Longacres) if you wanted to bet the Breeder's Cup, place would be packed to the rafters! Great times!

It was posted in another thread, how people in Portland abandoned their cars over 1-3 inches of snow!

I hope it warms up there as we need fish money in Sundays pools!

Let's make that governor proud!

5 Stakes tomorrow and 2 starter stakes. All 7 races are stakes races.

On a slow day, without cali running, I suggest ya'll take a look at PM tomorrow.

1st post 4 PM.

1st thoroughbred race goes off at 4:53 (3rd race of 9)

You left out the "Oregon bred" part. Oh, and the purses, 8.5k for Starter races and 15k for stakes. Just keeping it real...

I wish Hastings would run when Emerald isn't. I like that track. I dabble in it but time is just so precious and I can't dedicate time to Hastings.

If they maybe ran Mon Tue Wed, I'd play more but that would take away my "recap" time from the prior weekend (and studying ahead).

That's it, I found the cure. make more time, make the day 48 hours long
