Well said ! It was a beautiful race. This call memorialized the participants on and off the track, stirred the past and present spirits again in the final stretch run, captured the competitive finish at the wire and called it a "wrap".
It was near perfect. Well done Vic.
I never forgot the final Longacres call, it too was befitting of that moment. I wondered how the Hollywood Park finale would go. The field and this track announcer did this event justice.
During the "quake" call 8 years ago Vic said he'd better make this race his most memorable call, in some circles it was. That was an unplanned deal and it was great, now I will always remember this one as well.

Great final call Vic.
Thanks also for many years of top shelf announcing.

It was done just right. That last race took 75 years to run, not just 1 41 3/5.

Agree. Its a bad job, not a single person in the industry agrees with his position, not one.

Happy New year Vic. Keep us in the loop as to when we will hear your voice again, maybe on TVG as a commentator, or hopefully an announcers gig somewhere.

Its been almost 8 months since Hollywood closed. Where does the time go.
The game is not as much fun without Vic calling races somewhere. I mean, its still fun, but would be more fun if Vic was behind the mic.

That may be the call of all calls. Just great. Also impressive that the horses just kept running with the ground shaking beneath them.
Yes, I miss Hollywood and Vic. My favorite race caller. Every race was a live event with him, where most race callers just turn to an interchangeable sequence of mechanical sentences.

Vic's calls come across like a guy who's paying THEM to announce and not the other way around, that can't be faked.
