What if we moved the 3rd leg somewhere else?
I was wondering what if we moved the 3rd leg of the Triple Crown out of NY, would we maybe get a Triple Crown winner again.
Is it not NYRA who is always coming up with rules the other 2 tracks do not use or have.
Big Brown was allowed a steroid in KY and MD , but not at NYRA , right?
Now this time a Nose Strip, come on, this is not a milkshake, a dang nose strip, explain to me to where I could really say , man that is a great thing to do here, Nose Strip's shouldn't be used in NY, but Ky and Md is okay, why?
There are many other things NY has doen I am sure that has hampered a Triple Crown horse from winning, feel free to add them here.
Florida, California, now that dirt is back , or Finger Lakes, if you want to stay in NY, all are places we could race the 3rd Jewel of the Triple Crown.
Just my thoughts,
Patrick

I say we just end racing in NY period.
Plus we could put a big "NYRA SUCKS" sign on the side of your truck.

What you're saying sounds like having the walls of the outfield in baseball move in 200 ft so we can break the HR record.
Also, of the previous 11 TC winners, what did the NYRA prohibit them from having or using?

Then you might start to be happy again...

No, steriods were not banned in NY at the time. The trainer opted to discontine using steroids on BB after getting beaten up by the press over it. Anyway, the lack of steroids had nothing to do with his loss.

I knew I loved this site for a reason, thank you thank you thank you
Wow Bossman, you know how to cheer a guy up.
I been quiet lately and thought I needed to ask the unaskable question, and I did.
But I still do not really get the Nasal strip thingy, IHA may be dead last now, but at least we will see a race to make history.
Please , leave Dave alone, and maybe I will leave NYRA alone, as this was not really bashing them, just a littlle wondering out loud.
Moving the Preakness would be like hating the Yankee's, wait wrong analogy.
Go NYRA, they are making changes and trying, so I am allowing them the benifit of doubt , that, they want to make things better, thou the racing to me, except the recentt weather, has been very good when not taken off turf.
And this summer at Saratoga looks to be some really good racing, and great fields to boot, does this sound like NYRA bashing to you, guess so.
Patrick

No room on the truck, too many i love Johnny stickers already.
P.S. anybody who suggests Finger Lakes could or should host a Triple Crown race should be banned on principal alone.

What, it's ok to dump all those pathetic NY Breds on us but not the good stuff?
I remind you where Funny Cide ran his last race.
And Groovy ran there, too. Held a track record.

I think it's up to the owners and trainers to argue the rules. Moving the race
would be a big mistake. Too much history . The greatest battles took place at Belmont . I can't imagine it moving anywhere else. It just wouldn't be the same.

True, they had some great races there and Smarty Jones, maybe NYRA had his tounge tied , so he could not stick it out and win, with NYRA, who knows.
This race will never be moved, but does anyone see IHA really winning this race, and especially now? I do not. Would he have won woth the Nasal Strip, no of course not , Dullahan and few others are bred for this race , and IHA does not run we will always hear about the Nasal Strip, this to me is sad, he should be allowed to lose with it, at least then we won't hear about how NYRA did this.
As Grits said in another post who remembered the trainers of the 11 TC winning horses or the owners, well here is the list

I blame NYRA for Real Quiet being denied the crown. They must have manipulated the photo so Real Quiet would lose.
Yeah....that's it. Great thread Patrick
