I looked into this a few months ago. I don't have the number off hand but I'll take their number of 49 horses dying at Santa Anita last year. How many horses does Santa Anita have come through a year? Thousands.

What's 49 of 2000? A small percentage. The mainstream media doesn't tell you that part though, because then the number would be less impressive.

The thing is without horse racing, all of these horses would have never even been foaled.
