I'd never seen it, but was curious. I spend a couple hours one night watching Youtube videos and reading up on the game. An amazing, athletic game. Learned how their betting works (rotating teams play for point, winning team gets a point, losing team sits down, next up tea joins play. Teams numbered from 1 to 8. Top teams in scoring are the 'finish order' and are how they pay off the wagers. Multiple games in a 'Performance" (like a race card) and the members of the teams change between games.
I found it quite interesting. I do not know any handicapping factors that would help me choose between teams outside of the players record at the Futon yet. Of course, everyone would have access to that info, and is likely reflected in the probable odds. I'm not aware of any ADW's in IL that offer it (at least in IL) so I'm not going to bet it for now. But if made available, I would have at least a mild interest in learning more. Too bad Jai-Alai business in the US is in worse shape than any of the ponies, and likely nearly as bad as the dogs.
The sport came from, and still lives, the the Basque Region of Spain and France.
