Bad NBC coverage of the Derby

Is anyone watching this garbage?

I swear a total newbie would think Muhammad Ali is the favorite for the Derby. He's been mentioned atleast 3 times so far this afternoon.

Great horses like Serengetti Empress and Ce Ce got almost no coverage for their races while we've had multiple segments on protests.

Then to top it all off, one of the main people covering the race is a hockey player in a Canadian hockey arena. WHY?

We're an hour away and they haven't even talked about most of the horses in the Derby.

Nauseating camera angle switches they think people find impressive and interesting. Instead, you lose track of the actual race flow. Hate it.

And of course a couple of their moron talking heads made sure they spent an entire segment on beating up Barclay because of his comments about the rioting.


Nice, stick a microphone into an 82 year old horse trainers face and turn the comments into major event.

My biggest issue with NBC's coverage of the races is having "LIVE" still in the corner when they're showing a REPLAY of a past race without any indication ANYWHERE that it's a replay.

When you show a replay - put the bleeping date of the race on the screen!!!!!!

Screwed with my head a couple of times today as I switched between the FOX Sports channels, NBC, and TVG on the Roku.

Some of the basics of television production have gone by the wayside.
