I'm with you. I tried to tune in and sounded to me like the condensed version of everything he's said over and over again without the 'by-the-way' segues into ad-lib soundbite fodder.

Perhaps it's implied in the Keep America Safe Again theme.

His content was okay...but an orator he isn't.

Simple-minded libs think the ideal way to keep America safe is to take away everyone's guns. Keep guns out of the hands of everyone...except of course the crooks who would never give a good flip about gun laws.

I didn't listen because he comes across as annoying and a pompous blowhard, but I read the text of the speech and I agree that it was as boring as a shopping list. It was like something a high school kid would write. A long repetitious list of how bad everything is in this country and a list of Hillary's sins and a list of the most general, empty promises to fix all of the above. Just the same old screed to the base. No real ideas and no inspirational message.
The only thing in his favor is that there is absolutely no reason to expect anything better out of Hillary. And she will sound like every man's ex wife or girlfriend nagging about 'you never help out around here' and 'why don't you ever take me anywhere'.

Agreed. The options are Libertarian Johnson or Green Jill Stein or a write-in.

I taped the speech and just got through watching the first 20 minutes--because that's when I lost interest. He could have really soared here, but he just fell flat.
I was hoping for so much more.

What exactly were you hoping for? My wife, who is a Republican, was planning on voting for Hillary but changed her mind after watching Trumps speech. I thought it was excellent also.

Do some research......Obama has increased the debt more than every prez combined, prior to him

The only speech that matters is this.....
He is not Hillary.
I need no other reason to vote for him.

Stop paying attention to single polls. Look at the RCP average of ALL polls and you'll have a much better idea of what is going on. Moving forward there will be more and more state level polling and by late October those polls, in aggregate, will be more predictive than even the RCP national average.

One more thing: A poll conducted July 18-22 really isnt measuring post convention voter sentiment. They don't break down how many were polled on the 22nd but those interviewed on that date would be the only ones "post convention".
This is more accurately described as measuring voter sentiment during the Republican convention.
