If Audible is healthy and ready to run, it would be a disservice to racing to hold him out of running in the Belmont.
Either way, I think we get a full field to take a shot at Justify in 3 weeks. He is a fantastic horse, but I'm sure many feel he is more than vulnerable at 12 panels after his Kentucky Derby and Preakness races in which he was greatly extended and challenged.
Should be a fantastic Belmont with a ton of great betting interest.

nobody remembers 70 years ago that Calument held another highly regarded 3yo out of the triple crown cause they already had another.
And they wont remember this case as well.
I dont think Audible beats Justify, Justify is the better horse.
What beats Justify is distance and too much to do in a short amount of time with very little foundation.

Sorry I'm late to this...but seriously?
If you had a horse on the verge of winning the Triple Crown, one of the rarest accomplishments in sport...a place in history forever and some mighty fine stud fees down the road...you'd do everything in your power to put horses YOU OWN, that might have a shot at winning the Belmont, you'd put that horse, or horses, in the race to try and kill your own Triple Crown chances?
NO YOU FREAKIN' WOULDN'T.
NOBODY WOULD.

Sounded like pre-Derby talk.

If they try to win with Audible = He will at best run a belated 2nd.
If they 'ride to instructions' in fear of accidentally beating Justify = same result...
Audible is simply not capable of finishing ahead of an otherwise winning race from Justify.
However, you have to think that the connections may not know this with the same confidence that I do. They will then either skip the race, or ride to instructions. If Audible were to beat an otherwise winning race from Justify, it would be a significant loss for their ownership.

I want Audible to run to prove he'll be just fine at 1 1/2 miles. But now I wonder whether or not they'd throw in the towel on purpose if he did run.

I don't think Audible could even run 2nd at 1-1/2 miles, so him being out of the race wouldn't affect my wagering in the least. The only thing I could give him is that he may be some kinda "freak" who could pull it off by truly outrunning his pedigree, but I seriously doubt it.
Run him in the Travers and see how he does at 10F again against whoever shows up for that one.

Audible got a pretty good trip in the Derby but was legit 3rd best (which is really good). It gets a little foggier/less-literal when you compare 4th-6th. Bravazo ran as well as Instilled Regard and My Boy Jack, perhaps slightly better. I thought Good Magic ran significantly better than Audible, and it would be a reach to try to rank Bravazo ahead of Audible, although it may be closer than GM/Audible.
Audible looks like a top-tier horse when he runs through the stretch. He looks as good as a Justify or a Good Magic or a Bolt D'Oro.
I thought he'd get buried in traffic in the Kentucky Derby. Tactical speed can be a weakness for Audible. He had a great ride in the Holy Bull. He had a dream trip in the Florida Derby. Audible got a good inside trip with a good setup in the Derby but I give him credit. I think it was a fairly formful, literal run.
I'm not sure what I think he'll do going forward. I think he'll take some money in the Travers vs. Ax Man. I guess I'll grudgingly have to include him regardless of not being much value and having some concerns about his trip.

HRN email last night says Audible will not be heard from in the Belmont - low energy levels.
Hit the Pletcher Wall?
