the rumor is that Tucker Carlson was the guy that went to see the president personally to convince him that the corona was real and the president went for it.

so far after the change of heart the president has done a pretty decent job combating this thing. and we can owe it all to Tucker Carlson turning this tough stubborn SOB around at the right time before it was to late.

I've been thinking that it was Jared that got the old man to listen. The first news conference where he showed concern was after an announced meeting with his son-in-law about the subject.

Funny, I thought I read it was Jared who was initially to blame for trying to play the virus down to this dad....

In the end, WTF cares...all this petty bullshit nonsense that can't be proven one way or the other...

It's always POLITICS that triumphs over things that really matter....sad...(not directed at you jk...just a general statement)

Total coronavirus cases:
• 15,168 in New York, including 114 deaths.
• 26,747 in the U.S., including 340 deaths.
• Worldwide: 311,988. Deaths: 13,407. Recovered: 93,790.

Flu fatalities 2018-19 flu season:
• 34,157 (75 percent were 65 and older)
The CDC must have backtracked on that 34,157 number. Here's an article that claims the CDC estimated 57,300 deaths. The article is dated 4/19/2019.

Even at 34,157 over 20 weeks that's an average of around 240 per day.

Yesterday we has 117 U.S. deaths.

I saw last 24 hr data a few hours ago and it was way down - like 10% higher for positives and deaths.

It had been increasing 30-40% / day

People DO tend to forget that this is a NEW virus, and until a retrospective study of the ENTIRE effect has been analyzed who knows how much is this one to similar ones in the past..

Good point

Here are some thought from a containment / pinpointing perspective. There would have to be more testing available for this but here are my thoughts...I'm probably going to get ripped on this but oh well...maybe I'm way off here.

For this to work, EVERYONE must follow these procedures.

Have a website where every adult in the nation has to do the following:

We all have our places of necessity

Step one

Enter the supermarket that you go to.

This must be the ONLY market that you go during the pandemic and it must be trusted that EVERYONE will abide by this.

If there is a second place that is necessary and there is a second adult in the house, he/she will enter this location and be the ONLY one in the household to go there.

Now...hypothetically, every adult has a primary location (home) and a secondary location (place of necessity).

The exact name of these location as well as the address is entered.

There is now a database of every necessary business and every individual that goes there.

If either of these individuals comes down ill with the virus, he/she reports online Date/time of first symptom, date of positive test. Wouldn't this pinpoint hot spots where the virus is contacted?

I know there are a ton of loopholes here but does it hold any water?

30 days

Ramped up production of the drugs that cure C-19

45 days

The country will have the drugs available and we go back to normal

I’m hoping you can cut those numbers in half. I think that could actually happen ...... if all goes well. Not knowing what it takes to manufacture the drugs I chose 30-45

I forgot...add your place of employment if you are currently working. This makes things more difficult I guess.

All we need are concrete numbers that say, hey...look...this WORKS.

Then it's over. Everyone can go back to normal, because anybody that comes down with it just goes on the medication...no need to keep businesses closed...of course, until the next virus is released.

Like I said, we've opened a huge Pandora's box here with how we responded to this virus.
