So basically, you are saying that the horse that crossed the finish line first, regardless of what he had to do in the field during the race to do that, is the best horse?
I don't agree. Because that would be advocating *anything goes* during a race like the KY Derby.
If you support that, then you would also support if meds were found in the winner's blood or something is okay, too.....I mean, if we want to extrapolate it out.
The horse himself was not really the best, only the fastest. The best horses don't run the way he did. He is green, doesn't have enough racing under his belt, and endangered the lives of other participants, both human and equine.
If anything, WoW (and other horses impacted in the race) *deserved* to not have their placings in the race impacted. Had they left the original result up, the connections would have to live with the fact that they did not really win either. (at least, by your reasoning).
