R1 at Saratoga, check out the Trakus vs "official" times---a full 1.20 second difference. Clearly one is wrong, but I'll leave that to you guys to guess.
(It is the "official" timer that is wrong)

Their review process has some serious flaws then. I video timed races 1 and 10 and they are at most a fifth apart.
The teletimer has them a second and a half apart.

Beyer has the races ~ 1/5 apart on his figures. Though it's hard to tell what anyone is doing with turf figures because so many are broken out.

Sounds about right...no way in hell the teletimer 1st race is correct.

A race at Lousiana Downs yesterday has the final time reported 4.50 seconds faster (not 0.45) than it was actually ran. How can that possibly slip through the cracks?

Everyone is probably too busy looking for riding shenanigans.

This is the last one I'm ever posting. I don't get paid to be QA.

The race (Race 6 at LAD 8/11) was a mile and 70 yards. The mile time was input as the final time by mistake.
The final time for this race will be corrected shortly.
However, considering the track record for 1 mile and 70 yards on dirt at LAD is 139.40, the final time entered of 140.01, although really fast, is not inconceivable and therefore there was no validation warning for the chart caller to verify it.

The horses in question had less than 0% chance of breaking any track record at Louisiana Downs. I appreciate the fix, but in my opinion the validation being used is woefully inadequate. It isn't even really a debate...didn't catch a time off by that much.

Honestly, you should have went with "the dog ate our validation method" over this response.....

Can't resist one more...the half mile times for races 5/8 at Los Al thoroughbred meet on September 8th are a crock. Both races misfired during the race, and apparently somebody just made something up and stuck it in the charts. Both are much too fast, but not as fast as what originally showed up on the screen during the race.

The chart says 46.26. Doesn't seem unreasonable to me, but I'm new at this. What do you think it should be?

It has been changed, it was formerly listed as 44.01. They often change after I point out mistakes, which is fine. But since I'm not getting paid to do it and nothing ever changes, I don't point many out any more. I just fix them in my data and move on.

As is typical at Woodbine, Trakus had all kinds of timing problems today, even for the stakes races. Since Trakus is the official timer at Woodbine that is what you get in the charts.
