Trump Claims He Issued Shocking Warning To NATO Leaders...

Nato is set to announce that most of its members are on track to hit the alliance’s defence spending target as it prepares for more Russian aggression and braces for the potential election of Donald Trump.

According to three officials, Nato will say on Wednesday that 18 of its 31 members will meet the target of spending 2 per cent of gross domestic product on defence this year, with that number likely to rise as budgets are adjusted.

“Nato expects about two-thirds of allies to hit 2 per cent in 2024,” an alliance official told the Financial Times.

Imagine thinking Trump said he would URGE Russia to attack a nonpaying member.

He didn't say he would URGE Russia to attack.

He did say he answered NO to the question of "would you help defend us if we don't pay" or something to that effect.

And really, what is the point of NATO if the USA has to bear most if not all of the cost and the responsibility...and that everyone can feel safe even if you don't pull your own weight?

It's sheer nonsense and madness. It makes zero sense. It's the liberal mentality though..get all the benefits and handouts while sitting on your ass and offering nothing in return.

Your failure to include the part where he said "I would not protect you and I would encourage them to do whatever the hell you want" as a followup statement, tells me a lot about your integrity. Most of the news media interpreted this the way I did. You should be ashamed.

What you completely fail to understand is that the world is crumbling and we do not have the money to provide for other delinquent nations who are not kicking in what is required of them. If I was someone who was listened to not only would I have said the same thing but would suggest the exact percentage less we should not contribute. And when NATO has to do something it would be without American personnel and equipment. You pay your fair share or go it alone.
