Betfair has not paid off the election yet

Betfair did close to $1billion in matched bets on this presidential election and says they will not pay it off until there is an official result to it. they are probably making a fortune on the float of the money they took in and are probably in no rush to settle the bets.

Hope all bettors are holding on to their tickets.

Would you expect that they'd pay and then - if there was a reversal - pay the other side?

Would YOU?

NOPE

but in the last election where they had the exact same difference in the final electoral count, they paid off the election the very next day after the votes came in.

It was not EXACTLY the same.

The claims of fraud are massive.

I agree with Dave's logic and suggest to look for the fine print, anyone sitting on millions must have a payoff date and are likely to make on interest from both sides for 30 or 60 Days.

Wagering on a general election in this day and age is like betting on drunk horses. You're not betting on candidates, you're betting on moral character.

Why would they payoff. There is still a market for suckers willing to lose their money. There is money to be made.

Biden 1.05
Trump 19.5

6 million against biden winning @ 1.05
3 million for biden winning @ 1.06

Faith springs eternal for trump bettors.

Allan
