Stories have emerged that have said a Tactical Border Patrol officer put himself into harms way to engage with the 18-y.o. shooter, and in the process of killing the perp got himself wounded. My wife has seen a mug shot of this perp who she says is definitely an Hispanic. I'm dying to know if this guy was an illegal. If he was, all the major news outlets will certainly do their best to bury that little factoid.

On the one hand we have liberals cheering Ukraine handing out SERIOUS automatic weapons to any of their citizens with two working arms....and cheering the US giving that country $54B (and counting) to help protect their border from invasion...

I seriously doubt that one can buy one with fully automatic mode. Of course he could have obtained one illegally, or modified it to restore fully automatic mode.

Liberals don't want any restrictions on their imaginary Constitutional right to an abortion but want and succeed in placing all kinds of restrictions on the very explicit Second Amendment, with their eventual goal to overturn it.
One of these when exercised, ALWAYS results in the death of at least one human life and the other when exercised legally, very often results in defending innocent lives from death.

The facts are that the guy in Norway didn't have a bomb, and he didn't plow through a crowd in his car...he had a bow and arrow.
The dude in Texas had a semi-automatic rifle capable of firing a bullet as fast as he could repeatedly squeeze the trigger.
The analogy was beyond weak.
Why do you think the guy in Norway didn't have the same weapon as the kid in Texas....hmmmm?
You gonna answer the question I asked earlier or not...if the guy in Norway had a semi-automatic rifle do you think he would have killed more or less than five people?

That's my point, liberals want to ban "assault rifles" but they are already banned. If you are saying all semi-automatic weapons are "assault rifles", and it sounds like you are, then you are wrong.
Is a 9mm camp carbine an assault rifle? Is a Ruger 10/22 an assault rifle?

Most likely more. You believe infringing a constitutional amendment will save lives but why stop there? We can ban all kinds of things to save lives. You know what kills many more lives than guns? Cigarettes, alcohol, reckless driving and a million other things. How about fixing the reasons why people murder instead of going after the objects involved?

Cigarettes and alcohol mainly kill the user, and there are increasing bans on cigarette use in public areas (such as bars).
As far as I know, and please correct me if I'm wrong, reckless driving and driving while drunk are already illegal, no? 
I'm not trying to ban all guns (not even close), but I am all for banning these semi-automatic style rifles than can kill an entire classroom full of kids in under 30 seconds.
What's the justification for owning a weapon like that? So you can hold off the government when they eventually come for you? So you can fend off the Russians or the Chinese when they inevitably invade us?
In Texas, you need to be 21 to buy a handgun but at age 18 you can legally purchase the type of rifle that was used in the school shooting.
WTF kinda logic is that?
Those guns are made to do one thing...kill a lot of people in a short amount of time, and that's exactly what they do. Yeah, let's have people walking around with those strapped to their shoulder.
Ridiculous.
You wanna hunt? Fine
You wanna target shoot with your pistol? Fine
You wanna have a gun for home protection? Fine
You wanna own a people killer like that AR-15? GFY
