YOU are invited to join us for a Horsemen’s Golf Tournament at The Diplomat Country Club & Spa in Hallandale Beach, FL, on Tuesday, February 19, 2008. This Tournament coincides with the winter racing season and we expect participation from many of the Owners, Breeders, Trainers, Agents and Jockeys who compete at nearby Gulfstream Park Race Track & Casino. This golf tournament is also open to all racing enthusiasts to come out and play golf with some of their favorite jockeys, trainers and celebrities.
Stunningly beautiful, this par 72, 6,393-yard championship-style golf course has 76 bunkers and 8 acres of lakes and rolling fairways that meander through a multitude of banyan, gumbo limbo and native Florida palm trees. The signature hole (above) is the par-4, 2nd hole, a 385-yard challenge with an island green that is rated the course’s most difficult hole. The course rating is 72.9 with a slope of 136. This tournament offers a truly challenging golf experience on one of the country’s finest golf resorts.
The format will be 2-Person Teams, Best Ball, Low-Net. There will also be prizes for Team Low-Net, Nearest-the-Pin and Longest & Straightest Drives. Pari-Mutuel wagering will be available on all teams.
The all-inclusive entry fee is $200 per person (make checks payable to “Horsemen’s Golf”); a portion of the proceeds will benefit The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. The day begins with Registration at 11am, a scrumptious BBQ-Lunch served on the clubhouse patio from 11:30am to 12:15pm and a “Shotgun Start” at 12:30. There will be refreshments available on the course all day. After golf, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres with carving stations will be served during the Awards Reception beginning at 5:30pm.

It is excellent and inexpensive publicity to a very influential group of Horsemen. All golfers will receive a welcome bag upon arrival. If you have any promotional items such as hats, pens, key chains, etc. appropriate to the occasion, we would be more than happy to include such items in the welcome bag. Approximately 125 welcome bags will be distributed.
