Morning Line Favorites took a beating at SAR yesterday -- Avg win price $34.80!!!

I don't know what kind of handicapping that could have helped with those prices yesterday!!!

There was only 1 win price under $8 !!

Let's see what happens today!!

Hey Cratos,

Sure no problems I like keeping track of the Morning Line Favorites

I believe sometimes the public will, on occasion, forget about the Morning Line Favorite and that leads to some instances where there is quite a bit of value in a forgotten Morning Line Favorite.

Maybe it's my imagination but after several decades of observation I call the last week of any season "jockey's week" where long shots prevail, as in strange rides and high payoffs. This also applies to the first week of the season when jockeys relearn how track surfaces are playing. Someday I'll back this up with numbers.

James Bond always emerges in the last few weeks of the Spa meet to have some upsets. No evidence to back this up - just years of recollection. He's doing it this year.

I don't understand the stats at the bottom of the page, to the left. There were 10 races, yet you are accounting for 18 horses in your tabulation. I thought you were monitoring ML favs, which would only be 10 horses.

Hey Ultra,

Yes you are correct there are really only 10 Morning Line Favorites in each race but I check for each instance that there is one of these in a race (5/2, 7/2, 2/1, and *All/5)

*All/5 is any Morning Line Favorite ending with a 5 (i.e. 2/5, 3/5, etc.)

So on Sep 2nd:

there were a total of 8 entries listed at 5/2

there were a total of 7 entries listed at 7/2

there were a total of 2 entries listed at 2/1

there was 1 entry listed at All/5

So I am calling all of these the Morning Line Favorites and out of these 18 entries only 1 of them won which was #2 Nickname.

I should really keep the 1 and 1A as one betting interest but it gives me a rough time with my calculations I haven't quite figured that out yet!!
