For stakes they make new saddle cloths with the horses name and the owner gets to take them home. Have a few myself.
Be glad they call the races to help you find your horse. It was not always that way.

And traveling on horseback was once a common method of transportation. Lets get into the 21st century, Keeneland.

Maybe they should tear up the track and build a 1 mile oval because it is hard to see the backstretch and the top of the stretch.
Actually the local patrons seem to love Keeneland.

To the locals, Keeneland is absolutely the only racecourse in the western hemisphere. Though it does face southwest, making one's view (often my own) into the first turn and down the backstretch difficult late in the afternoon. This is quite noticeable on TVG as well. (New camera angles, hopefully, will help.)
Their new sportsbook, or event (let's don't call it "gambling") center, will move simulcasting out of the upstairs grandstand and over to the hill--by the Man O War entrance. Sounds really nice.
It, along with the sales pavilion, already in use on racing days, should hold a lot of people on that Breeders' Cup they're shooting for.

100 % right  its like what traditionalist and purist have in common = both oppose change even if its for the better........

Speaking of Kentucky traditionalists and purists, you know Churchill has changed for the better--historical landmark that it is. Just takes a little time to spot those two spires sandwiched between the high rises. All built for one day on a calendar year.

Who bets more money on those races, the locals of the simo bettors?
I agree it is a beautiful track. I've been there, it was a terrific day. For simulcasting. Very comfortable, good food, seating, but what does that have to do with betting 1000 miles away? The locals love Finger Lakes.
What does that have to do with watching the races on a TV screen?

I hate it when tracks do that for their stakes races also. Speaking of Keeneland, they're off to a very poor start to the meet. Field size down and handle down big time.

I was thinking the same... Their timing of the announcement? It was a poor decision on Keeneland's part. Bettors are thinking, "nope, no more of my money. I'll wait for October's new state of the art dirt."
