Buckpasser Large Heart X
In looking at the 23 horses listed in Pool 4 for the Kentucky Derby I found only
two that carried the Buckpasser Large Heart X .
These horses were Early Voting and Un Ojo.
Are there other horses that might carry the Large Heart X besides Buckpasser ?
Ten of the 23 had the RAN (Raise a Native) sire line.
Call Me Midnight
Cyberknife
Early Voting
Ethereal Road
Forbidden Kingdom
Morello
Pioneer of Medina
Rattle N Roll
Shipsational

I personally don’t subscribe to the X-linked big heart theory but I would throw Zandon in the group. Direct female line from Secretariat’s daughter.

I know if he hadn't missed the triple crown races as a 3 yr. old, his name would be in the same discussion with Secretariat's. Believe a minor injury sidelined him, bit not certain.

Amazing horse, often skipped when talked about regarding greatest racehorses of all time.
31 (25-4-1) lifetime.
This is his 1966 Jockey Gold Cup win that was run at 2 miles.

I'd never seen or heard about that one. Thanks for sharing.

Buckpasser was a female family 1-x and that particular family has nailed it share of roses and runner-ups over the years. Other family 1 subs have outperformed as well (Justify 1-h, as one example). Here's some 1-x Derby exacta horses.
Super Saver
Eight Belles
Bluegrass Cat
Smarty Jones
Go For Gin
Sea Hero
Easy Goer

Just like voting fraud, WHERE'S THE EVIDENCE?
First and fremost, it tkes MULTIPLE genes to signal the protein synthesis of the fetal to mature heart muscle.
Second that multiplicty, to date, has never been found: THIS aaccoring to a geneticist I contacted at Texas A & M vet school.
It is a statistical creation of a single researcher (with NO hard evidence found in the genome)and has NO coordination in genetic fact.

Interesting Buckpasser Large Heart X angle
Epicenter doesn't check that box, but he has a nice stamina pedigree.

I think he doesn't get the same respect as some horses because he didn't win by huge margins. He also got blown out by Damascus in his final start.
He was one of those horses that would get into position to win and then do just enough to win by a length or so a lot of the time. He carried 130 and 133 to victory and 3 of his losses came in his last 4 races when he was known to be having physical issues (including that loss to Damascus). One other loss was his 1st start. I don't see how anyone can keep him off the "great horse" list even if there have been better along the way.

I have not looked at them all but Tiz the Bomb is one. I might even throw a $20 on that one. Was a credible run at Turfway.

I only fine one horse that could have gotten the Large Heart X from Buckpasser
and that is Early Voting.
There are two others that could have gotten the Large Heart X from
Secretariat and they are Messier and Tiz the Bomb.
Those with the Raise a Native sire line are:
Cyberknife
Early Voting
Ethereal Road
Forbidden Kingdom
Messier
Morello
Pioneer of Medina
Tawny Port
Zozos

In loooking at the Conduit Mare Profille breeding in regard to those with
greater Speed than Stamina. Horses with a greater Speed than Stamina have won only once in the last 25 years.
Those with a greater Speed than Stamina are:
Charge It
Ethereal Road
Summer is Tomorrow
Tiz the Bomb

Weird Dosage Profiles:
Early Voting 0-0-4-0-0; BP + PQ if that still matters
Epicenter 0-0-9-1-2; tilted more towards stamina but still broke a track record
Hell, good of a box as any.
