And now, when I hear the "mainstream" fraudsters peddling the company lines that the pharmaceutical companies have fed them...I am reminded of what Linus Pauling (look him up) once said:

"There will never be a cure for cancer. Because, no matter how many people are dying from it...there are even more people making a living from this disease".
You're best post ever!

You're absolutely right about us taking responsibility for our own health! This is the correct biblical approach on multiple levels.

thaskalos,

I'm sorry to hear all that. I knew about your wife, but I didn't know about all your personal struggles. You are very strong man.

I'm not sure what to say.

When it comes to racing I've done decades of personal research and have decades of experience. I feel a level of expertise that allows me to listen to other handicappers and feel confident I know who else has also done a lot of hard work and who has simply been playing horses for a long time, is flying by the seat of their pants, trying to sell me something, or has plenty of opinions but doesn't actually know what they are talking about a lot of the time.

When it comes to medicine I am clueless. I have no education or practical experience. I could read 10,000 articles and studies and I still wouldn't know who was telling the truth and who was full of crap. I'm operating with intuition while weighing risk/reward. I'm actually distrustful of my own doctors to some degree when it comes to recommending medications as opposed to lifestyle changes or unnecessary tests that line someone's pocket. But in the end, I think they are mostly trying to help. I don't think they are recommending vaccination and trashing Covid anti-vaxxers because they are greedy evil liars or dumb. I think they think it's the best course of action for most people. I think they are also trying to point out the scientific and information errors some of the anti-vaxxers are making. I personally can't dismiss them out of hand.

I agree they are mostly trying to help...the problem is, most of them just accept whatever is handed down to them from on high...what else can they do if they don't do their own research, which they don't have the time to do with the myriad of illness and disease they treat on a yearly basis.

And what is handed down from on high? Most likely the things that will make those "on high" the biggest boatload of cash in most instances.

Correct! Medicine is so complex that most practitioners don't have the time or inclination to investigate alternatives outside the box of "conventional wisdom".

My wife could write a book on this subject as it pertains to the care she has given to our feline critters over the years. She has often thought outside the box and shunned the conventional wisdom of mainstream veterinary medicine -- and has been quite successful at it -- even to this very day. She has even astounded some vets!

Sorry about what you and your wife went through, I have a similar distrust of doctors. My wife was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma when my kids were 3 months old and 2 years old. She had all the symptoms throughout her pregnancy but her obstetrician kept telling her what she was experiencing were "just normal pregnancy symptoms", even though she had none of them the first full pregnancy (sidenote: or the 3 miscarriages before, that could have been prevented. We were literally laughed at by a world renowned fertility doctor when we were looking into research on miscarriages by an "internet quack". It paid off when we listened to the "quack" and ended up with two healthy kids). It was probably a good thing she wasn't diagnosed during the pregnancy however, because we would have most likely lost our daughter during chemo.

During my wife's chemo, we asked about anything we could do to lessen the collateral damage. We were told nothing, just maintain a healthy diet. A friend of ours who is a neurologist, told us that it is imperative she take CoQ10 during chemo to protect her heart. He said if you don't do anything else at least do this. He also asked us not to tell anyone that he told us that because he could lose his license if the wrong people found out. We asked the oncologist about CoQ10 and he immediately shook his head and said no, it was not "part of the protocol" but he couldn't give us a good reason not to, so of course we did. It may or may not have helped but it certainly didn't cause any harm because she has been cancer free for 9 years.

My trust in conventional doctors has been severely eroded in the last 20 years from personal experiences and from family members' experiences.

Would you mind pointing us to the mavericks or treatment that helped you cure your cancer? People today put far too much trust in mainstream doctors and have to advocate for themselves.

It's far more sinister than that...IMO. Let me re-tell once again a short story that I've repeated here in the past:

About 3 months before my wife died, I rushed her to the hospital because she had some sort of infection. By that time, her immune system was so compromised that the only chemotherapy that she coulld endure was the mildest form which came in a pill...and she was instructed to take 5 pills in the morning and 4 pills in the night DAILY. The pills were very expensive...and the doctors kept telling us that these pills spelled the difference between life and death for her. Not a day could go by without her taking those pills...we were told. When I rushed my wife to the hospital with that infection, I knew that she would have to stay there for an extended period of time...so I took along a full bottle of chemotherapy pills that we had already bought.

Once we got to the hospital, and she was situated in a room, I told the oncologist that I had chemo pills that my wife had to take daily...and I asked him if I should give her the pills as prescribed. He told me not to do anything until he got back to me. Night time came and the doctor still hadn't gotten back to me, My wife hadn't gotten her pills all day, and I wasn't sure if I should be giving her the nightly dose either. I kept remembering all the times that the doctors had told me that these pills were the difference between life and death...and I was panicking. After a sleepless night, I told our problem to the first nurse that I saw in the morning...and she too told me that the doctor would soon be getting back to me. More hours pasted...and I was getting livid. I called the nurse in the room and demanded an explanation...and after a short pause, this is what the nurse told me:

"Sir...ultimately you can do what you want to do, but this is what the doctor told me. He told me not to allow you to use your own chemotherapy pills...but to place an order for the same pills with our in-hopital pharmacy...and then have you use those".

My wife saw me fuming, and started telling me to calm down and stop embarrassing her, so, instead of telling the nurse what I wanted to tell her, I said:

"I see. The hospital wants to charge me us a lot of money for pills that I already have in my pocket. Fine. Why can't you bring my wife these new pills so she could take them now?"

And the nurse shyly replied: "Because our pharmacy is out of stock right now...and won't have them again until tomorrow morning."

And this was at a place that's advertised as the premier medical institution in the Midwest...the name of which I would gladly make known if you would allow me to.

You see...this is hardly a case of doctors who are mostly "trying to do good"...IMO. This is CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR...and a blatant case of the doctors maximizing the hospital's profits at the expense of the patient's welfare.

Before we go too far on the medical horror stories, let me give you one where the doctor's advice paid off.

About 10 years ago I developed tinnitus in one ear. I went to the doctor and he didn't see any infection or anything suspicious. He treated me with steroids. That didn't work. He then suggested a visit to a highly regarded ear, nose, and throat specialist and an MRI because he said there was about a 1 in 2000 chance I had an acoustic neuroma (benign tumor). So I went. The ENT agreed with the odds but said OK to the MRI.

It turned out I was the "1".

The ENT recommended a surgeon who he called "The Michael Jordan of acoustic neuromas".

To make a long story short, the typical AN patient loses their hearing in one ear, many experience lifelong headaches, most have very impaired balance, they often suffer from facial paralysis on one side, and around 1 of 250 die during surgery.

Michael Jordan saved my hearing, I have no headaches, no facial paralysis, and my balance is barely impaired. I can play tennis and other sports fine even though I'm not 100% because he had to remove one balance nerve from my brain. This was all possible because my MD said I should get an MRI even though the odds were only 1 in 2000 to find anything and because my surgeon was (is) a genius with his hands and knowledge. They aren't all evil.

If it's the Mayo Clinic, my brother had a bad experience there. An entire week was completely wasted there for a misdiagnosis, they were "99% sure".

thaskalos,

I can see why you feel the way you do. That was incredibly out of line. I might have even considered bringing something like that to the news and newspapers.

Deaths in 80%-Vaccinated UK Up TENFOLD From This Time Last Year When Zero Were Vaccinated

The constant drumbeat from Big Pharma’s pawns in government, media, Big Tech, and academia hits Americans over the head every day with their push for universal vaccinations. Vaccine mandates are spreading faster than the disease itself as millions are suddenly finding themselves forced to choose between taking the experimental drugs or losing access to life’s essentials such as jobs or groceries.

The justification for rising authoritarianism and incessant propaganda in America has been the notion that if we just get everyone vaccinated, Covid-19 will go away and we can establish a “new normal” for society. They want us to forget that the original goal was 40%, then 60%, then 80%. Anthony Fauci said he doesn’t want to move the goalpost to 90%… yet.

How is that working out in other nations...?

Answer: Not very well at all!

What vaccine are they using in the UK?

They must have their own concoctions.

My mother got 20 extra years from open heart surgery done at the Mayo Clinic. One of the first several dozen operations performed. So I obviously have a completely different experience.

Medicine is not an exact science and doctors, being people, are fallible.

You can say that again.

Imagine if they are WAY OFF on this COVID thing...mass scale type of impact...years down the road, everybody is dead or sterile or whatever because of a miscalculation with this new vaccine technology.

After all, vaccines have never failed before, or ended up killing people before it was yanked.

This one has killed enough people to get it yanked a long time ago, in any other period in history.

But hey...can't take any chances against what amounts to a real bad flu...shudder the thought!
