He also had the highest late pace in TFUS, with Zandon and Mo Donegal behind him.

Congratulations go out to the winner and all the connections! Everyone was super close on this race but hey I like the upset/unknown stories for the Derby!

All that prick had to do was let him go but he wanted to be on tv.

I suspect that outrider was the person who coordinates the post race chat with the rider for NBC. So NBC was probably telling him to get the interview, and that's why he didn't immediately break off and tried to restrain the horse.

Considering his long shot odds, most folks didn't play him. But wow, this is why we race, because anything can happen.

That's what I was thinking after I posted
The weird thing was that the horse had a win here and won by 17 1/4 lengths so was kicking myself that I didn't do a backwards exotic bet with longshots on top and then contenders on bottom

Kentucky derby points, prep races...forget all that....today an 80-1 shot with a 5 race losing streak won the biggest race of the year. Crazy to think about it.

I'll still take that over a horse with two lifetime races getting pushed to the Derby because he "deserves a shot at glory" or whatever nonsense Zedan was spouting.
