I'd been a big fan of his for many years. He had a tremendous range. My favorite role was in "Children of a Lesser God". He played a teacher at a school for the deaf.
It was not his most acclaimed role, but something about it spoke to me.

An immensely talented actor with a good eye for quality material to appear in. I'm going to watch a few of his films not yet seen, since I am a fan of his.

absolutely loved Altered States, but mainly for the material(fantastic book)

Dark City is one of my all-time favorite movies. Hurt has co-starring role.

Into the Wild is a very good movie, Hurt has a very small role. Love the story of Christopher McCandless.

A History of Violence is a good movie too. Hurt with co-starring role. Mainly good Due to Viggo Mortensen, David Cronenberg and writers.

R.I.P.

Yeah, I loved the novel and movie "Into The Wild". I actually meant... in my earlier post-"Mr. Brooks". Think "Mr Roberts" was an old navy comedy

I have seen that before, years ago. It's good for what it is. Those sexual dramas are not quite my cup of tea.

I have 3 Hurt movies cued up for viewing.

Until the End of the World

Mr. Brooks

The Incredible Hulk - I have probably seen this movie, but have zero recollection of it, having watched the trailer.
Watched The Incredible Hulk (1977–1982) as a kid. I remember running out of the room until he was done transforming. I was 6 or 7.Sad show. sad theme music. felt bad for D. Banner. He seemed so lonely.

I was never a huge fan, but he had a knack for playing the bad guy.

He was really sinister in Goliath. And I believe he was sick during filming, which added to his character

Btw, Mr Robert’s is one of my all time favs too. It was the last film for William (played the snarky Doctor) Powell. He was a hugely famous actor back in the day. He was the “Thin man”

Gawd, Kathleen Turner was absolutely beautiful in "Romancing The Stone".

Saw her years later, she made Rosie O'Donnell look good. 🙈

You wouldn't make fun of a cerbral palsey individual or laugh at a serious outbreak of both psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis..

Before you denigrate someone on a thing they had no conrtol over, think again.

Ny cousin Wayne was dprived of oxygen during his delivery (sadly at HOME where not much could be done). He overcame so much in his life that he was the inspriation for me going into medicine. The doctors said he would never walk without braces, and he went back to the hosptial, waited for that doctor to come back and then dropped the braces from the mezziane on him.

His will power in just walking a short distance with all his muscles in spasm amazed all who saws him. My good friend, Bob Gunton, met him many times when we grew out together on Camden Place in Santa Ana California. Many years later he told me how impressed he was in the way he handled himself and said the used the expereince of knowing him in some of the characters he played in the movies.

Once when we were both visting our grandparents in little River View Alabama, he became very nauseous with the flu, got ustable while in a market, and I helped him get othe gloor withouit falling. I sat him down with him, but he was unable to hold back his nausea and vomited the watermellon whe both had eaten earlier in the day.

Some dumb ass fool woman passed us and she screamed out :"Is he dangeous? I must keep my childern away from him if he is."

"Can't you see he is ill you dumb person!" I yelled and them promptly went over and kicked her in the leg, EVEN at 7 years old I knew what was right.

YOU NEVER make fun of the disabled or ill....NEVER
