“Horse racing needs to stop pretending and just be what it is.
It’s a great combo of WWE/reality TV/sports with a healthy dose of BS on the side.
It’s a great game. Cheating is a part of it. Death is part of it. Losing is part of it.
Winning makes it all worthwhile. 😊”

This morning he was told to apologize for his comments and he did so.

“Monday evening I made a mistake and used a very poor choice of words to make what I hoped would be a compelling thought regarding horse racing. I apologize to my colleagues and the industry for my lack of proper forethought. I truly felt you all would have the open dialogue with me. I will find a better way in the future.”

There’s only one reason why he still has his job today, anyone else would have been canned immediately.
Do we know his employer made him apologize?

Why do you think he didn't get canned? If you are going to insinuate something, say it.

I think it’s a safe assumption everyone in racing, especially racing media, does what they’re told.

He stated it like it was fact, which we don't know. Maybe he apologized on his own? That is certainly possible.

STRICTLY PROHIBITED...what do you think that means, smart man with many higher-up friends?

One acting on one’s own agency would simply clarify his position and reengage. Not “apologize” in that weird way.

And there is absolutely no requirement for a moderator to be unbiased.

In fact, the word bias isn't even in the dictionary definition of moderator:

moderator
noun
mod·er·a·tor ˈmä-də-ˌrā-tər
pluralmoderators
Synonyms of moderator
1
: one who presides over an assembly, meeting, or discussion: such as
a
: the chairman of a discussion group
b
: the nonpartisan presiding officer of a town meeting
c
: the presiding officer of a Presbyterian governing body
2
: one who arbitrates : MEDIATOR
3
: a substance (such as graphite) used for slowing neutrons in a nuclear reactor

Meet Merriam Webster, one of my higher-up friends:

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/moderator

and before you jump down my throat about the word "nonpartisan" that refers to a POLITICAL meeting, of which this is not

I am very much biased against board assholes

Craig:

Look at Ken’s history on twitter.
For years he’s pushed the envelope on many issues, quite a few of them non horse racing related.
He’s never once retracted or apologized for his comments, today he did.
FAN DUEL doesn’t turn a blind eye on “hot topic” issues
TVG did all the time
Finally for the record he WAS told to apologize

He hasn’t been canned just yet but I’d be very willing to bet you’ll see less of him on air and before the start of Saratoga he’ll be gone.

A Forum Moderator is a member leader that leads and manages the Forum to ensure that all members have a healthy, successful Forum experience.

Tom:

From my first reply the moderator/owner has been up my ass
Also just because you own something doesn’t mean you can’t be civil with your comments.

I fight fire with fire always have and always will
