Sad and beautiful at the same time. Love the pictures.

Yesterday I was in Goshen NY. I used to take my three sons to Historic Track for the July 04 meet and parade and they loved it.

Yesterday I took their kids, my grankids to Goshen.....No not Hall of Fame, Track or Museum, but LegoLand NY.

Yes, the times they are a changin.

When I read that this was to be the last racing meet at Pompano Park, I made plans to get them added to my track collection list before their final race.

Was able to do that in the latter part of March.

I enjoyed the harness racing as well as time in the casino poker room.

Probably a huge longshot, but maybe they can find another venue to continue harness racing in FL.

Rep. Dan Daley said that he is going to work hard during the next legislative session in 2023 to get another harness racing license for Florida. Yes it is a longshot, but longshots do win sometimes.

Of course.
The harness facilities at Pompano Park will begin being demolished starting on May 1st. The track and grandstand areas are eventually going to become a golfing range and an expanded casino area.

This is Pompano Park Casino but marketed as Isle Casino. It's surrounded by undeveloped land. Enough for 50 tracks.

Caesars entertainment is renovating and building new bldg for new Casino and in anticipation of sports betting.(my guess)

What's in this Laurel room are All the machines for craps and machine roulette..

There are no table craps in the state of Florida. Trust me , take my word for it or go burn minutes on Google.

Table craps and roulette are banned in Florida. I'll explain if asked.

They offer machine craps only.

Three months ago at the Hard Rock I saw REAL CRAPS & ROULETTE tables.. they were new, shrink wrapped on pallets.

Ready to go until a judge tossed the Seminoles signed deal with the State (desantis). Seminoles rec'd monopoly 99 years for 5 billion. *My numbers probably wrong.

I speculate Gulfstreampark's new Carousel 🎠 is a forbear to their sports book plans.

The anticipated revised gaming compact might see the fortunes change for Gulfstreampark , Tampa and anyone holding a Pari-mutuel license.

Speaking of Florida decoupling, sports betting , casino's et al.

Imagine being in Vegas for Superbowl weekend and you learn on GameDay that it's not on television anywhere in your hotel or casino.

Sounds crazy?

Hard Rock Hollywood does that.

it has no race book, or keno or sports theater.

No Super Bowl on. True.

Gamble or GTFO.

Monopolies etc.

Hard Rock doesn't rate players on table games. They do..but not in the way you and I are accustomed to.

They don't award points based upon your play. Avg bet size , hands played, buy in amount , frequency of play etc.

Normally you can use those points for meals , rooms or drinks.

But at Hard Rock , Table play puts NO points on your player card. Only slot players get rated and get points on their player cards.

At a blackjack table, instead you must ask for what you want. If you ask for a drink at a table, it involves 3 people and a receipt to the waitress, a receipt in the dealer chip box, and a receipt to the pit boss. Big 🎉 to get a free diet coke.

Hard Rock Guitar hotel. The cheapest room on any Saturday night is $1200. You want high floor w/balcony? $4000 a Saturday night.

Greater Miami is the most expensive city in America.
