I am continually amazed by how many here lack a sense of humor. The selections were meant to be humorous, but that doesn't seem to work on this forum

Everyone who voted in the poll should get a 1 green rep point!

I'm continually amazed that you haven't figured out by now that "many here" don't care much for how leftists have redefined "humor".

A little Geritol in the morning at at bedtime might eventually help you to get up to speed.

So, has anyone here ever received a participation trophy? If so what did you do with it. Did you display it proudly or put it in the back of your closet?

I got a non-participation ribbon for being the only person in my age group to show up for a tennis tournament. I buried it in a drawer. Other than that the only participation award I got was a high school diploma.

My mother got a participation bowling trophy back in the 60s with a delightfully snarky engraving, "Last place Champs".

I received one from a soccer team when I was ten and enjoyed looking at it, as it was the only trophy I had. Never played soccer again no idea where it is now.

Are you saying your HS diploma is fake because your grades weren't high enough to warrant a diploma?

I got one for bowling once.
On my team, one guy got a trophy for best average score.
Another got one for most improved bowler.
The third got one for highest 3 game total of the year.

Mine said "Best Team Picker!"

No, I'm saying I was smart enough to graduate whilst barely participating. I was never serious about anything until I found horseracing at age 29.

Picking the "best team" is the most important skill of all...IMO. I didn't realize this until I started betting on sports.

Back in the day, I was a runner, never won any race, but have plenty of participation medals. Still have some of them and cherish the memories.

Trophys however are for winners.

Don’t want something not earned.

I love competive sports and there are winners and losers.

Some kids need reinforcement so I have mixed feeling on participation trophies.
