a top jockey?

Afleet Alex ran hard throughout the Derby. Giacomo ran at the end of it. However, the more interesting question could be asked two weeks later. Could "a top" jockey have remained on him, recovered, and still won?

Jeremy Rose knew his horse. He rode him well from Arkansas to New York.
