Mike Stidman
i have no idea what the did with Backstreet Romance yesterday in Arlington 8th. that horse got plenty of speed and she winds up in a mile turf race and he has the horse taken back to last. that filly is to nice a horse to run an awful race like she ran yesterday. she is what she is, she is not a filly that is going to go a mile and three eights on the turf for her career.

Was it a workout in race conditions ? Seems the only plausible answer.

i have no idea, once they leave ocala i usually never don't know, but the filly worked in 59 before the race, so i thought he was gonna let her go out of the gate. she had been working and beating horses that had already won in new york, that is why it was so puzzling to me.

Is this the same horse that showed zero speed in her previous race, her only other lifetime start?

Stidham is one of the top trainers in the Midwest. His filly ran a traffic plagued second in the VA Oaks last Saturday.

I was going to ask permission to change Mike's name, to make it easier for me.

Hey, wait a minute. That's Mr. Oprah. The guy that Oprah serenades with the Beatles album spun backward. You know --- "Turn me on, Stidman," ... that guy ?

The filly worked in a minute flat...Her name is Backseat Romance..Like CJ said "Is this the same horse that showed zero speed in her previous race, her only other lifetime start? Which by the way came off the turf at CNL..Stidham even tried adding blinkers to sharpen her up..With this addition you would think the filly would have shown more speed early on..Maybe, she's just not that type..
