This was the absolute safest bet of the week that the market would go up at some point today, and stay up at the end...
The rest of the week is COMPLETELY up in the air with earnings coming from Microsoft & Google (tomorrow), Facebook (Wednesday) and Apple & Amazon (Thursday).

"No bad news" isn't good enough anymore.
Today's move up in the last few hours represented a 50% retracement of the move down that happened on Friday.
A 50% retracement of the down move that started last Thursday and stopped temporarily this afternoon (a move that was worth 300+ points on the S&P futures, which is a pretty big move in only a few days), would bring the market up to 4351.50, which is only about 50pts higher from where we are right now.
So really, IMO, there isn't much upside left...I expect one or more of the big names this week to really disappoint the market.
The volume on today's "reversal" was weak compared to the reversal days on 1/24 and 2/24 of this year (interesting how the reversals keep happening on or about the 24th of the month).
This week's big earnings will provide the excuse....

Morgan Stanley looks like a complete train wreck to me. i wouldn't doubt to see that one cut in half in this market real soon.

Yesterday 4-25-22 I scooped up some more S&P500 ETF funds and hopped into a new position (DIVO) that I had been waiting to get in for a reasonable entry point.
Nothing looks enticing so outside of nibbling on Bond Funds and S&P500 ETF's on the way down I'm sitting on cash waiting for the slow circling of the drain to continue.

I've tried to talk myself into banks several times in the last 6 months, rising rates should be good for them, but their performance the last time the shit hit the fan has me holding back. I just know that whatever bad news comes economy or default wise those stupid fuckers are going to be right in the middle of it, with a tanking stock value.

I don't think we will really get a free fall day out of this decline. Probably more like a long slow decline.

So, is the market running up just to crash on Apple/Amazon earnings? Or will there be a massive short squeeze on top of this run up if they blow out their earnings calls?
Or will the day end in neither a plunge or further surge...but merely a whimper?
