Belmont 4/27

Does anyone know if there will be turf racing today? There was quite a lot of rain. Maybe just the higher class races?

Also, any opinions? Belmont opening is a definite sign of spring.

This is Belmont for today (I just searched NYRA and I guess it defaulted to AQU), no mention of off turf yet:

They carded 6 (of 10) turf races today, so Run, I guess they are telling us that only races 8 and 9 will be on the turf. Too bad, I was looking forward to playing Belmont today.

Your right, didn't see that. Hate off the turf.

Why don't they just card 4-5 horse fields on dirt and why bother with turf racing at Bel, it's been like this for couple of years now. On average they have 22 rain days in both May and June in NY so when it rains even once during the week, it's OFF turf.

Ship all these turf horses to SA! WTF.

i like it better this way because i specialize in off the turf handicapping.

if you are a turf handicapping specialist, it gives you plenty of opportunity and practice to get your turf handicapping fine turned.

you should be thankful they are taking turf entries.

Late scratches are out. Races 2 (down to 6 entries), 5 (down to 6) & 6 (down to 4) really got decimated. I wish NYRA would get rid of that damn rain machine!

Horse has been active lately, was 6.5/1 last time against these. Somewhat interesting race for a small field.

I planned to bet the 1, but 7/2 not fair. 7-1 maybe, maybe not. 3 is best imho. to beat him I'd need mo money or I'll bet a 3-2 double. That's paying 7/2

First day for Finger Lakes today.
It is pouring and almost snowing, but not a single race taken off the turf!
