Kent's next last chance
https://www.thoroughbredracing.com/a...test-comeback/
In the article Kent contends "My head is in a better place than it’s ever been. I am probably healthier than ever being sober" and the next line indicates he might be right:
"I am more capable than ever of riding a racehorse to the wire for a win."
I have to admit, I laughed out loud at this. Only someone with a sharp mind, and Kent's habits, would leave themselves an out to fail to ride to the wire when he CAN'T win.
In all seriousness, he's riding great and it's good to see. I'll raise a glass to him tonight.

With Desormeaux riding well again, Frankie Dettori, Flavien Prat, Umberto Rispoli, Joe Bravo, and others, this is a very deep group of riders who excel on turf. I can't remember what year it was, but one summer at Saratoga, it was fun watching Desormeaux ride the tricky tight turned turf courses at the Spa. He made all the right moves.

Desormeaux's RIDICULOUS stand on how the photo finish camera CAN be manipulated shows the lack of understanding about a pivotal part of this game

He is a jockey. He probably shouldn't speak about something he doesn't know, but I really don't care if he understands the photo finish system or not when it comes to his riding.

A few years back when leaving the owner's lot at Saratoga when we were part of a partnership that never won, we were cut off by a convertible. I rolled down the window to say something, but the guy waved a quick sorry. It was Desormeaux.

I think so, I think he was just trying to get through a hole that closed up.

Alcoholism runs rampant in racing. Suffolk Downs was awful. Until Pat Day came through , cleaned it up, left behind sober christians.

Credit where credit is due. He delivered a pitch perfect ride and won the Santa Anita Handicap on Stiletto Boy yesterday.
Guy's got a lot of demons, but he can still ride.

I could not imagine a jockey that had to watch his weight would consume empty calories. I could see what P-Val did, taking drugs that suppress the appetite.

Failed a breathalyzer in March but was back riding a few days later?
Not sure who's worse, the CHRB or Desormeaux.
Looks like we're on Strike Ten - they play some funny baseball out there I guess.

Embarrassing to let this guy keep riding. What would happen to a NASCAR driver that showed up for a race drunk?
