Has anyone seen the video of Gary Stevens and DW Lucus at a dinner table laughing about cheating in racing?
The video looks like it was secretly shot.

Re: the 1st race on Friday when Jose O went down.
Does anyone know the rule about how much contact a jock has to have with the horse to be placed as finishing the race?
If the jock is a few feet in the air and only has the reins or the mane in his hand
and crosses the finish line has the horse finished?

Imagine a fan of racing not knowing it's spelled Lukas

The key part to see head on is when they cross

I agree. Why they don't stay with that shot until the field hits the bend is a mystery

Scratches
Why so many? 24 yesterday and 20 today including MTO's and AE's but excluding those, it seems excessive.

I was thinking that myself, a lot of vet scratches today (7 early and one flipped over in the paddock)

Enjoyed three days up at the Spa. A great festive atmosphere at the track.
Watched Saturday's races in grandstand, and in backyard Friday & Sunday.
Looking forward to being at the Spa in 10 days!!!!

Stevens can’t put together sentences. It’s sad. A FOX executive would have to explain to what is exactly he brings to the broadcast aside from name recognition. Amoss is ok but why do they have guys on that don’t follow NY racing at all aside from the two months at Saratoga.

He sounded fine Saturday.
Made more sense than one of the others.

I think they are all good when they stay in their lane.
IMO each person on the broadcast should have an area of expertise. Handicappers, riders, trainers, paddock/visual experts, color commentary/broadcast expertise etc...can all bring something to the table. If there are multiple handicappers it might even help if they use different approaches entirely.
It's when people step out of their lane there's a chance you are going to get some questionable opinions, especially when it comes to selections.

It looks and sounds like the crew is carrying Stevens and limiting his input. I watched him with Amoss, and Stevens was not looking happy. Hall of fame jockey, but his broadcast skills are less than credible.
