The great Saginaw slated to race at Aqu on Dec 15th.
One of the best claims in history? Seems like it.

SAGINAW goes up against only 3 in the Gravesend Handicap. Hillswick and Broad Rule have scratched out.

Saginaw may have been a "great" claim, but I would never refer to Saginaw, the racehorse, as great. Society seems to use words like "great" and "superstar" way, way too often.

Don't forget John Henry who was sold for $1100 as a yearling, ran in a $25,000 claiming race and ending up earning $6.5 million.

He just keeps getting into REALLY soft fields and he keeps getting amazingly great trips and he just keeps winning life or death. Not nearly the same horse he was, but amazingly great placement has kept this guy in the winners circle as NOT the best horse in the race (2pf will get a better sheet number).
Amazing horse.

Videogenic claimed by Moschera was one hell of a claim. Claiming horse turned into a 23 stakes placed horse including the Grade 1 Santa Anita Handicap and The Ladies Handicap. Over 1.1 million in earning back then.
