Sorry azz state of the Industry

Today I cant bet on CD, HOL, GG............seems like there are more disputes that hurt the bettor. You cant count on getting a bet down anywhere anymore. Why study all night just to find our your not eligible to wager somewhere.

Sunday night I bought the DRF online early PP's for Hollygreed's opening day..
Karen's Aunt had died, & we had the Wake Tuesday, Funeral AM Wednesday.
Spent All last night studying the card at Karen's Moms house, sans Brews!
Got home @ 3PM, & saw the TVG notice that HOLLYGREED is not available out-of-state, & to call Drew @ (310)330-7142 to bitch.. Beautiful..

Mr. Bombsaway,

I enjoy your posts. They are informative and you appear to be very well-read.

Thank you.

That said, I have a request...

Would you consider changing the size of your type to something a little larger?

It is a real struggle to read that small print, although your tagline comes through real clear.

Respectfully,
Dave Schwartz

I second the motion. You post good stuff BAB, but it is a little tough on the eyes.

Perhaps this may be a time for HANA to step up and flex a bit of muscle....I know that Cal-racing is big time and therefore alluring to the majority of players here and around the nation, but perhaps, this may be a very timely time to form some sort of a boycott of sorts, to send a clear signal to the ractracks that we are tired of their BS, and we are not going to support this type of crap any longer....If they don't want us, then we don't them...haha nahnah....

best,

Turn out the lights.....

Guess what guys? The industry knows it can get away this type of action, as their client base is begging for them to resolve this issue so they can get back to betting on their tracks.

When I go out, I don't demand good service and fine products, but if I don't receive satisfaction, I simply won't return. I simply impact the business by not patronizing it, oh yes, and I discuss my dissatisfaction with others.

I'm tired of getting kicked around by the industry. My message is that it is not OK to f__k around with my livelihood.

I've pushed literally millions of dollars through the windows in my lifetime...and though I've never pushed a million dollars through in a single year, hundreds of thousands is the norm.

That number has just disappeared.

I'm tired of getting kicked in the balls every time I turn around in this game.

Lee Russo is right. The sport is dying. Not because it isn't a great game, but because the powers-that-be continue to shoot themselves in the foot, and they are slowly bleeding it to death.

I do believe I will continue to participate in the sport though, as a thorn in the side, or a pebble in the shoe of the administrators of the game.

What a bunch of muppets.

Incredible post. And, at the same time, very sad indeed.

The way the customers in horse racing are treated is absolutely pathetic. No customer base in any other business gets the shaft quite like the racing fan. Fans come back for the greatness of the game and certainly not the customer service. The higher ups could care less about the fans and the customers. I just couldn't believe my eyes when i saw on TVG this message flashing that you weren't allowed to bet. Think about that for a second. They are running horse races for the SOLE purpose of betting and they don't let you bet. America, the land of the free, doesn't you do much anything these days. Canada and Europe are going strong and their residents can bet with anyone they want. Betfair, Pinnacle, you name it, they can do it. America, we're too worried about the children. What are the children going to think if a grown adult makes a horse or sports wager in the privacy of his own home? Oh no, we cant have GAM-BA-LING but we can sell liquor to minors and cigarettes are in every convienience store in every corner in america. Want to make a sports bet? You can't. Want to smoke tobacco, drink alcohol or drink caffeine? No problem....you can do drugs, but you can't bet on the Packers.

What in gods name is happening to the good ole' US of A.? If anyone has an answer or a solution, i'm all ears.

Speed, I believe that is the real problem. No competition breeds poor service and more.

An open market is always best for the consumer. In this case, too many hands have control.......... and none of them have the common sense of a goose

no competition yet "too many hands have control" .... there's a contradication there someplace.

IMHO you can't blame TVG, they brought production value and national distribution to horse racing on a 7 day a week 12+ hours a day basis. They aren't making huge profits--positive cash flow at best. There is no national organization (e.g., MLB, NFL) to negotiate and understand the business model. Track management and, most signficiantly, the horsemen, overestimate the value of their product.

At this point, I say let the whole thing blow-up. I don't play much these days anyway. The "sport" is just accelerating its death spiral.

Now that the BC is over, I will play harness exclusively for the foreseeable future. Tampa Bay if they don't turn into idiots. But the T Breds can kiss my arse. I will never go back to any that have screwed me in the past. Woodbine, Mohawk, Meadowlands, all the action I need.

Agree totally. The only thing that puzzles me is why it’s taking so long.

Free markets make a nice slogan, but that won't do anything about the tracks where the horsemen are withholding their signal.

Whatever the reasons, if they're boycotting me, I'm returning the favor. I haven't put a dime into the pools for a month, and with CD and HOL not available, I'm through for the year.

I'll look at things again early next year, and if they haven't straightened out a bit by then, I'll take some more time off..

Maybe the horsemen can develop a taste for horse meat.
