Throw in the Ravens potentially being in the same orbit too.

Plus all the hard-core NFL fans and bettors all over the country watching their own team and keeping an eye on all the other games they bet on. They aren't going to be placing on-line bets on horses.

I am going to enlighten those of you who do not reside in the 30-35 mile corridor between Baltimore and DC. Sunday at Laurel Park is dead during the NFL season. Hard core players can do the simulcast. Hard core NFL players are at home watching the Ravens and Skins at home. What part of that do you not understand?

Laurel has one of the best turf courses in the country, which attracts big big fields and makes for fun betting. Look for the turf races, no matter how low the level. If they can run on the lawn till December, they will, far different from other venues in the MidAtlantic.

Steve Davidowitz has some track profiles in his book, one of them being Laurel. He says that the relatively long stretch is generally free of bias, but closers tend to do better there than elsewhere because of a deeper track cushion. He also says that horses that make a good move on the turn or show good acceleration there in 6-7 furlong races can benefit from the effort and frequently improve in their next race.
This is from the 2009 edition of his book, but could be out of date by now. Any one have any experience with that?

I find it amazing that so many people see decisions that are counterintuitive to their expectations and simply assume it is just a dumb decision. I always give them the benefit of the doubt and assume there are facts and figures I do not have access to that play a roll in these decisions.

The Sunday move was made some years ago, and I'm sure it was a sound business move. Unfortunately it doesn't work for me and a few friends of mine, because we need a track that runs Saturdays and Sundays because of work schedules. If they ever go back to their Thurs-Sun schedule, I'm all in.

Is it just my eyes, or is the streaming video from Laurel "slow" for lack of a better word?
Its like choppy, its hard to explain, it seems to be the only track that's hard to watch sometimes....and their race replays are the same way.

I think more tracks will forego Sunday racing and add a midweek day. This permits these tracks to take advantage of the otherwise limited number of tracks running.
So for many tracks, Mon thru Weds is a better fit.

The 3 opened with 2,000 wps.....than a few clicks later, she had 4,000 wps.......each flash the person who was betting the 3 kept betting increments of 1,000 WPS every minute or so.
Very odd betting for a firster who was 15-1 ML from a low pct barn and nondescript workouts.
