Ohio State (college football)

7th in the AP poll.

I think Urban Meyer and staff have done a really fine job with the team.
5th in scoring.
Their QB was a heisman candidate in spite of being somewhat limited.
The play calling was very good, and they had J.T. Barrett in position to make plays. He had even gained confidence as a passer. Team was really gaining momentum.

Now Barrett broke his ankle.

Could be a big factor in the final college rankings. Significant key injuries is one factor specifically outlined as counting against a team late in the season.

Meyer has to start over, with Cardale Jones at QB vs. a solid rival in Wisconsin Saturday.

They are toast without Barrett. I hope I'm wrong.

Significent key injuries aside.....hanging half a hundred (or more) on Kent State, Cincinnati, Maryland and Rutgers and losing to a 6-6 team at home to Va. Tech does not seem to put this team in the playoff ptcture. The Buckeyes are champs of the MAC again this year! lol (I am from Columbus,,,,,,but from the east side......Ralph is from the west side)

Wow. Wisconsin is 4 point favorites.

Ohio State should win, but it could be a close game. Wisconsin can run the ball.

Last week, Wisconsin shut down Minnesota's passing game (5/18 95yards 0td 0INTs), but the game was fairly close in spite of the 10 point final margin. Minn lead at halftime, and after Wisconsin took control in the 2nd half, Minn. came back to cut the margin to 3pts with 7:32 left in the 4th quarter.

This Cardale Jones kid probably doesn't throw for 300 yards or anything, but you will see the same style of offense that Ohio State is known for.

+4 looks good to me.

I don't think I have ever seen an Ohio State team step up like this one did.

I loved the team in Eddie George's last year, but this team just overcame so many obstacles and then comes into the championship game against the number two defense and flat waxes them. Amazing stuff.

How do you pick next years QB? Btw, this Cardale kid throws the ball hard as heck. Harder than I've seen in a while.

By any stretch, I am not an OSU fan but I do not see them out of the Final4. OSU wins with their #3 QB which is amazing/ Go buckeyes!!

One thing for sure, #5 and #6 will feel jilted as the ones left out always will. I think Baylor and TCU are deserving but the Big 12 don't have a title game anymore and that might hurt them in the final tally.

Ohio St. played THE weakest schedule of the teams fighting for the last spot and deserve NOT to be in....

That said...the COMMITTEE has B10 influence w/THE most appointees...esp. former coach's leading/swaying votes...

since it's all politics at this point....OSU probably will be IN!

it would be outstanding if they drop FSU... ...that's just a PERSONAL bias....and really shouldn't happen....

Despite all that, clearly OSU is one of the best 3 teams in the country. They'd crush TCU or Baylor in game right now. Heck even Wisc would beat Fla St. But they have to be in because they are unbeaten. OSU maybe in the class of ORE and Bama, right now. We just don't know. It comes down to the old argument of who should be in. The best team right now or the season of team taken as whole. I am in the best team right now camp.

Beat 9 bowl eligible teams
Beat #8 Michigan State, #13 Wisconsin
TCU
