That is what I would have thought. I only looked up my home tracks from back in the day. Shockingly all the Santa Anita dirt sprint records were set in the 21st century except for the rarely run 3F distance. I thought there should have been quite a few set in the mid 80's when the track had periods of being lighting fast with the strongest speed biases I have ever seen.

Why on earth is that "shocking" ???
You may (not) recall that when the main track was (at its most messy) in Arcadia, they scraped the top layer off the course, and left it a seeming freeway without significant cushion at all.
Perhaps you might note the significance of two present track records at the popular distances of 6 and 7 furlongs both having been set on the same day - their first back on "dirt" after the absurdity of the synthetic mess.
The 6 1/2 furlong current record was set a couple of weeks after that.
Tracks are seldom faster than when you're running on the base, with minimal "cushion".
