Go woke, go broke? Disney shares have fallen 40% this year...Bob Iger returns as CEO

Bob Iger’s stunning return as Disney CEO throws all of Bob Chapek’s major decisions into question

Bob Iger’s shocking return as Disney’s chief executive officer immediately throws into question several major decisions made by outgoing CEO Bob Chapek.

Disney shares, which jumped Monday morning, have fallen more than 40% this year, including slumping on weak fiscal fourth-quarter results earlier this month.

The Disney board’s choice to replace Chapek with Iger speaks to it having more confidence Iger will deliver better results. Iger has disapproved of several of Chapek’s changes to Disney despite hand-picking him as his successor in early 2020, according to people familiar with the matter, as CNBC reported earlier this year.

Hard to visit...My sister, who still lives in S. California, tells me that you can no longer just GO to Disneyland, but rather have to have reservations...She was told this was a move to limit the maximal number of guests who are there at any ONE TIME so getting to the rides doesn't take an hour, BUT the costs have skyrocketed.

When I was in high school, we would go out there for the Friday and Saturday night dances admission only was so reasonable

Disneyland is a small part of Disney today.

ESPN has laid off a lot of people and has obviously went downhill. Pushing their ESPN + subscription service and their growing left wing bias has driven people away. I thought it was pure comedy, I don't remember who but a hoist on ESPN radio was ranting that they were told to tone down the left wing politics. He then managed to go on a rant saying he never mixed politics in with sports, and never would take sides politically. Funny the guy had a huge part of a previous days program, as this was years ago getting behind the kneelers, and playing a Mike Dikita interview and ripping on him for saying they should be kicked off the team.

I find it strange the denials from the left when it comes to politics, especially the ones that deny obvious bias and hypocrisy.

Disney already lost their self-governing 400 square mile 'autonomous zone'.

Jiminy said it best.......

“When you wish upon a star.....makes no difference who you are.
Anything your heart desires......will come to you.”

They could bring back Pluto as the CEO.....the shares will rise!
