Even that seems a bit fast. The timer stopped when they got to the 1/16 pole and it must have taken 6-7 seconds to get to the wire.
Does he get to keep the track record?

Mile races on dirt are easy to time on mile ovals, that time is within 0.10 at worse. It was 3.5 seconds from the instant the graphic started to change and show the final time until the wire. When it actually tripped is hard to say but, it certainly wasn't the sixteenth pole.
No, he won't keep the track record.

The time for Faithful King's race has been corrected to 1:40.20. As Craig stated this is no longer a track record.
The one mile track record (Defy 10/5/17 1:36.34) has been reset.
The chart has been updated accordingly.

There's no 6f split for Race 6 at Aqu, run at 1m16 on the Inner Turf, on Oct 19th

I timed them this morning, no idea if they'll be added as I've detailed in this thread. I'll post my times (mile is missing too) next time I'm on my computer.

So I'm looking at Kentucky Downs Sep 7, race 5 - it's carded for 6 1/2 furlongs, with a run up of 335 feet. Does anyone know why they just don't card races for 7 furlongs? From the time the gate opened to the time they hit the wire about 1 1/2 minutes elapsed, I have to think that's some sort of record for most time to complete a 6 1/2 furlong race in the US.

Just seeing this - thank you CJ
CD Nov 8 Race 3 - 1m16 on dirt:
I know it was only a 3 horse field and they probably just loafed along early, but 53.81-119.17 is very very slow.

This race wasn't flagged by Equibase or CJ that I am aware. Churchill uses a relatively new ATC beam system so the times appear to be accurate, though as you pointed out, very slow as there were only three horses in the race.

Thanks CJ
I need to get away from the BRIS charts and start using Equibase.
Too many errors & omissions at BRIS

Regarding missing times at NYRA tracks, whether the chart is Bris or Equibase won't make a difference regarding a fraction or final time which is omitted at the time the race is run.
When a time is omitted from a chart, that omission appears on all charts. As Craig has mentioned previously, even when a time from video (or another source) is available, it won't be in the chart until the state steward approves it. That is the only track/circuit I'm aware of where this is the procedure.
