Not painful. I've been struck and hardly felt it. It gets the horses attention but that's it. No marks on horses after races

Game is being ruined by complete and total idiots.

ATTACK THE FREAKING OWNERS - THEY are 100% responsible for all the problems. They own the horse, they allow the stupidity to flourish.

Someone should do a YouTube video of it. A couple of whips to the arm or legs, no sleeve.

It's been done. The following video was posted to YouTube in 2015. It's the most definitive and informative video concerning the use of the whip/pain that it inflicts that I've ever seen:
