Canada is no longer a free country
Woodbine canceled racing today because of "extreme heat", the afternoon temp will reach 85 degrees today.
I am amazed at how the average Canadian citizen bows like obedient sheep to the leftists that now run there country federally and locally.
The government says "shut up and obey" and the cowards comply.

You are correct sir. Weather forecast in Toronto says 85 for a high....It was 83 45 minutes ago....
Interesting times...if they cuck you into getting a vaccine you don't need, I guess they can cuck you into thinking 85 is too dangerous to race horses

More likely truth of the matter is... the AC in the Stewards hut went out. Can't have sweat beading on your forehead while your looking at replays.

Hard to begrudge the decision to cancel of any east coast track currently in the middle of this extremely hot and humid soup, Toronto included, as there are heat warnings in place there. They raced yesterday when it was just as bad, who knows what they were seeing from horses after the fact.
Life is Good was struggling after the Whitney yesterday

Humidity can make that feel a lot hotter, especially when there is little wind.
Why does EVERYTHING in your lives HAVE to be some conspiracy against YOU?...In the great scheme of things YOU are not important a bit.

That "hut" as you call it is hardly that...A very large room on the sixth floor right under the photofinish and video room right above it..MOST days they open the large windows on the track side of that room so any air condtioning would be wasted.
The NARRATIVE FALLACY at fulll mesure
MADE up BS to explain things they DON'T KNOW

HOGWASH...I have always LAUGHED OUT LOUD at Americans description of Canadian culture WITHOUT EVER SETTING A FOOT in that country...Much akin to the repugs telling us all about what it is like to go to college without EVER being there either.

What was the humidity level in Canada?
85º in high humidity is certainly more taxing on the body than 85º in low humidity/dry heat.
95º (even 100º) in Arizona, for example, is generally not intolerable. I know; I've been there riding horseback, at the time.

It's currently 83-84 and high humidity in Toronto (73%)
So the "feels like" is 91.
All of you coming "at me" in this thread are nothing but idiots.
Keep it up though...you're proving my point each and every day

Imagine cancelling races when it's 91 ("feels like" temp) out.
NEWS FLASH: It's SUMMERTIME! It's SUPPOSED to get into the 90s in August.
Nobody ever had a problem with this before...

George Orwell said in his 1984 novel: there will come a time when the government will tell you that 2 + 2 = 5, and you will HAVE to believe it!

As someone who has lived and worked in both dry heat at much higher temp
and lower heat with high humidity, those feels like numbers are BS. I believe in them as much as I think NYC will be under water by the year 2100.
I will take 110F at 15% humidity over 90F and 50% any day.

Have to agree. Since when is WOODBINE the government?
I used to think everyone was out to get me, then I realized most people didn;t know I was, and those that did didn't care!

Maybe a heat vaxx for equines is being tested as we speak. Perhaps in the foreseeable future all horses will be required to get heat vaxxed and boosted twice a year to stay in the game.
