At the same time a Christian bakery refusing to bake a gay wedding cake draws the ire of liberals.

But you don't "simply acknowledge it", you dwell on all the bad parts, rehashing slavery over and over, using it to bash present day whites as if they are responsible, your rallying cry is "you're racist". The left will never mention the hundreds of thousands of whites that gave their lives to free blacks. American slavery from hundreds of years ago is one of the biggest tools in your toolbox of hate.

The US did not hold slaves for 200 years, not even close. An early draft of the Declaration of Independence included a section to end slavery but the southern colonies would not go along with it and without them, the British would not have been defeated. You use present day standards to judge America's past. The United States was not the first country to hold slaves and was not the last and if you think only blacks were enslaved by whites, you need to learn some history and research the Barbary Coast Muslims and white European Christians.

And if you think the "Native Americans" who lived on this land before the Europeans came were harmless, peace loving people, you need to educate yourself there also. The brutality of many tribes among themselves, especially the Comanches was beyond horrific.

As for women's rights, are you aware of what goes on in Muslim countries today?

If I was her opponent, I'd run a write in campaign. Cheney doing this shows a win at all costs mentality. I'd happily vote against that type.
