I said recently in another post, in my opinion that HORSEMEN HAVE TOO MUCH POWER! Here's just another example of it in this BLOODHORSE article.
Not all horsemen groups are bullheaded like the THG though. Some horsemen groups I've noticed are real ADW-friendly and are PRS, as in the word PRINCES. As for the THG, some would say they appear to be another kind of (censored)
.
And as usual when there is bickering amongst racetracks and horsemen groups on revenue sharing, ADW signals etc., there is no mention or concern for the bettors...tsk! tsk!
I wonder if this stalement continues, whether the belligerent THG will be happy with an additonal 3 % of nothing if there is no racing, or if there is a big drop in wagering at some tracks.
Wouldn't it make more sense to start negotiations with the 'end in mind'? ...i.e. a successful settlement and go from there. How about some addtional tips:
1. Next, tell each other what the different parties agree on.
2. I'm assuming another good negotiating ploy would be to listen to what the other parties concerns are.
3. How about considering what's good for the customers?... a.k.a. the bettors.
4. Have some give and take. Remember the univeral law again...."GIVE AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE".
5. How about bringing in William Shatner in to negotiate a settlement?
(I know, I know I've been watching too many PRICELINE.COM commercials).
--Remember THG..."demanding something... or else" in my opinion, is not a very wise negotiating tactic.
