Sorry Mark, while I feel sorry for how your body is failing you choose to throw your body around like that. I do hope you find some peace.

Yes feel bad for him. I am a big Jets fan. Back then much less was known about concussions and the impact they would have on long term health. Sad.

not clear to me if MG was rejected from the class-action, or if his own separate claim was rejected. If it was the former, I think that's ridiculous. Give him his ****ing money. I don't even care if a guy shoots drugs and boxes professionally post-NFL, - you ought to all be included in that old class action. If it's the latter = tough luck.

so tired of hearing players whine about it

pay the old-timers a class action suit. They also deserve some bonus money simply for being the foundation of this billion dollar media revenue

force the new players to take a class on how bad ramming your head into people is for your head.

then stop whining. Stop telling me fake thugs like Hernandez have CTE or that some guy from 10 years ago spent all his money on women and drugs and now kills himself because he doesn't want to start over and live like a normal 40 yo, that his CTE was acting up. Or this trash Jonathan Martin. Hold these ****ups accountable.

Great.

Let them all sue.

And then ask them, if you could do it all again, "what would you do with your life?".

I'd venture to guess 10% (likely less) would honestly venture back to that time and make a different decision.

They all knew the risks going in. And they all got paid a mountain of money to be great athletes for all to watch.

Fame and fortune has its draw. Just look at our social network society of today. Anybody think Gastineau would have been fine being a bricklayer as opposed to being a sack-master Jet?

Yes, it's sad that it happened to him, but the problem for him from a sympathy point of view are your points, as well as the fact that it just doesn't happen to that many guys, given how many play (have played) and for how long they did this stuff. His personal example makes him think like it happens to 100% of players (that's all that matters to him, it affects him, not saying that callously just naturally) but the reality is that he's sorry now because he got caught.

I don't think you'd find a guy who is not hurting much (most) who would ever say it wasn't worth it. Which proves our point. Overwhelmingly it was worth it for an overwhelming number of these guys. But the media loves the sob story to try to prove its (emotional) point ...
