Nureyev's story of survival after breaking his leg was pretty remarkable, remember seeing a documentary on it.
I saw him at Walmac in 1996 ( Risen Star was there too...he was a giant ) and he had his own stable area. There was a photo display of him going through his rehab. It was remarkable.
