Why doesn't Bozo keep the Whole Foods open there? The druggies need reparations as well.

And yet, people apparently keep voting for this?

Or is the vote rigged?

People aren't this stupid. They honestly are not. Even in the poorest of inner cities, people aren't dumb enough to keep voting for this.

A lot of "good" people on the left (there are a lot evil totalitarian types too) can't separate their idealistic views about the way they'd like the world to work and the way they would personally behave from the way the real world works and real people behave.

So every policy the come up with turns to shit.

Defund the police and spend the money on community outreach sounds great in some utopian society where no one will take advantage of the lack of law enforcement. They were foolish enough think it would work because they wouldn't take advantage of it. But of course in the real world all hell is going to break loose and it did.

Every policy they come up with whether it's money printing to fund social programs, making long term promises the system cannot keep, raising taxes etc.. always has a downside they can't foresee and comprehend because their model of thinking about the world is delusional.

Only the left could try to turn the old joke "If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle" into something offensive because even if my aunt had balls she might still be a woman.

The modern progressive Democrat is brainwashed into thinking the system is the #1 cause of criminal behavior. How many times do we hear them say the system failed some loser who was arrested 39 times and met his demise fighting with police? Until that changes and they wise up cities run by Democrats will be crime infested shit holes.

Yup, they love to play the blame game and point fingers at others or something else. It's guns that really kill, not the shooter. It's the system that really screwed up not society as a whole, etc.

At some point we are going to have to see that many things are interconnected. What it costs to live combined with kids are growing up broken before entering the job markets. Growing up broken often means no religious start, a basis to draw meaning in life and have deep feelings of right and wrong. We all start to draw baselines of of what is acceptable or should if not broken right. Some suggest the quality of education grades 1 to 12 and put blame there when in fact some formal religious activity during the informative years of kids seems to go better even for those who drop out of school. I do not like to see every thread go into preaching as many here do not. Just when it might fit into the context of a situation.

Stores closing like this is alarming. Portland, San Francisco, Chicago, etc.

As Boxcar pointed out, Whole Foods is an upscale store. They do not open in high-crime areas. That's a bad omen.

I hate to keep saying this, but we are dealing with delusional people.

These are not the old debates about taxes, spending, education, health care, defense, foreign policy, business, environment etc.. with rational people on both sides making good points and a compromise possible.

The dumbest, craziest, bad intentioned, loons on the left are driving policy for democrat party. That party went entirely off the rails. The right has its loons too, but they aren't driving policy. They republicans are still focused on the economy, taxes, the business environment, legal immigration, trade etc... To the extent they are off message, it's to fight the loons on the left.

To the tune of The Long and Winding Road by thr Beatles

The long and racist road,
That leads out of town,
You said we let you down
but that's really true,
You brought it on yourselves
when you cleaned out our shelves.

Many stores have closed their doors
and many more will follow
Democratic policies
are just too hard to swallow.

But there's no coming back,
on the long, racist road
It only goes one way,
and that's away!
