Looks good.
Got a good trip in the Futurity.
Mostly fundamentally sound.
One of the best trainers.
If sound/fit of course he'll be on the Derby trail.

In the Breeder's Futurity, it looked like Messina was already on his right lead (that's to say "wrong" lead) around the far turn, which is never a pretty look and often a sign of physical trouble.

At the same time, the winner Forte didn't look so hot either around the turn, laboring a bit before switching leads and then lugging in enough down the lane to draw a claim of foul.

That aside, if your post was actually a pun on some Loggins & Messina song, I'm proud to say I am totally ignorant of their catalogue (outside of the Caddyshack & Top Gun soundtracks)...

From the DRF today - Cox said Loggins was scheduled to be “checked out again in a couple weeks and hopefully cleared to resume training."

Not encouraging far as making any of the triple crown races, maybe exchange those Derby futures for Haskell ones.

The horse said "I'm alright, don't nobody worry 'bout me".

Checked out? Wasn't he allegedly sent for R&R, was only tired?

Let's just hope he makes it back.

Off the Derby trail.

Doesn't sound like he ever left WinStar.

With the clock ticking they were clearly running out of time for the Derby, but that sounds like whatever was wrong is still an issue. That's way worse than just missing one race, even if it's the Derby.

It's a shame because he was clearly very talented and in this crop likely would have been major player with any of the typical development.

Isn't Forte a budget KIA model?

"Couldn't Outrun a Forte" is the more appropriate headline.

Hey! Hey! On the bright side at least the champ's name wasn't Adobe...
