ODDS POP

For you POPS & TIPS aficionados...I see a nice "Odds Pop" in the 5th @ SA:

Notice ROUBAIX's odds were going up-now headed down. An indication of improving condition-if the brand-X trainer can get it done.

STABLE WATCH

Ol' ROUBAIX I semi-sorta touted @ SA- did nothing today (for those keeping score).

Karen's Cove (#6, 12/1) is entered at Aqueduct on Sunday, February 20th, 2022 in Race 4.

Later, dudes

MAIDEN SPEED REVISITED

First off...I gotta say, as a vendor in semi-good standing--once again I didn't hit sh*t at Aqueduct today. If anyone using any Pace-View software and WINS at AQ-please explain how. I won one big pick-3 earlier in the meet, and have been losing ever since. Unless someone can sell me on a reason to continue-I'm officially done.

Remember recently, when we were looking at maidens using the top speed (best 3 of 4 avg) found in Trainer Moves and Speed Demons? Took a look again...still holding it's own.

Hit 8 of 15 top speed-ranked, with the last race at SA upcoming.

AQ
1ST CLOSING DEALS 7/2 $4.40
3RD KING OF HOLLYWOOD 9/5 $4.80
GPX
1ST BARBARA 7/2
2ND PROUD CONTENDER 4/5 $3.20
4TH ANGELIC STORM 12-1
5TH CUPID'S DUDE 15-1 $8.00
8TH VIALETTO 3-1
11TH ARETE'S CHALICE 5-1
TAM
2ND RULING FRONT 8/5 $3.40
3RD JIM'S BRONZE STAR 5/2 $3.00
OPX
1ST RATTRAPANTE 2-1
6TH BLUE NORTHER 6-1 $5.80
SAX
2ND ARTHUR SPOONER 9/5
4TH REALLY BIG NEWS 4-1 $7.20
6TH HOLLYWOODHELLRAISR
9TH GLENALL 5-1 (RACE COMING UP)

Here's the ROI for today:

*should have just bet the 2 maiden races and called it a day @ AQ

Today's Top Platinum Power MVR:

5 short-priced winners on top...not that impressive when you realize most of these races here only have 5-7 entries.

Was wondering how much a show parlay would have paid, but didn't have time to figure it. It couldn't be that much, since only 2 paid as much as $3 to show.

I'll post a quick elimination method that works at most lower-tier tracks such as MVR, in the morning--stay tuned

Good Luck,

How so, Mike? BL1 & BL2 shows the finish of last two races (I think I would prefer the FIRST TWO CALLS instead of the finish, but it is what it is).

Since there will be no further upgrades and tweaks--we'll go with this.

Damn...I tried to make the above images smaller, but they were too blurry to read. Only problem is...the larger size knocks the page out of alignment-at least on my monitor. Sorry about that...

The best use of the "BL1-BL2" is to check for a win last race. The lower level claimers that I generally play-they win once and that's a wrap. I've found horses that - their performance today seemed a little puzzling-then I check to see if they won their last. Many times that's the case. Cheap claimers don't often win two-in-a-row. I forget which track it was...but recently, there was a claimer named SHINNY that had won 10 in a row. Amazing.

Another interesting tidbit...at one time, I had it in my head that horses that improved speed ratings the last 3 consecutive races-were "due" to improve further. Nope. Matter of fact, they figure to run a lesser speed rating in attempt #4. Still may be good enough to win--but not likely at this level.

Keep in mind I'm talking about claimers 4yo and up-not handicap, allowance and stakes horses.

Improvement Score

Been fooling around with trying to find a way to score and rank improving horses. The 3rd race @ Penn is a puzzler, so thought I would try out what I have so far on this race:

-So looks like the play would be maybe, an exacta keying the alongside the ,,

Since they may be a bit of a price-I'll go ahead and box the -

Let's see what happens
